Symantec Threat Report Confirms New Era of ‘Mega Breaches’ — Infosecurity

In the latest Symantec Internet Security Threat Report, it is report that the number of ‘mega data breaches’ went from 1 in 2012 to 8 in 2013, with a total of 552 million identities exposed in 2013.

Symantec’s Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR), Volume 19, shows a significant shift in cybercriminal behaviour, revealing that cybercriminals are plotting for months before pulling off huge data heists, moving away from quick hits with smaller rewards.
