Visa, MasterCard push for microchip cards after eBay data breach – South Florida Business Journal

In the wake of recent major data breaches, Visa and MasterCard are renewing a push to adopt microchip technology into U.S. credit and debit cards.

Company executives say a move away from the current black-magnetic-strip transactions would eliminate a large percentage of credit card fraud.
