Kmart Australia has called in the police to help get to the bottom of a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of customer details.
The “external privacy breach” affected a number of customers who had shopped online with Kmart, the company announced in a statement Thursday. Names, email addresses, telephone numbers and billing addresses were some of the personal data revealed in the incident, which it said took place on Tuesday, although credit card numbers remained safe.
