Luke Dembosky has joined law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. The firm announced today that Dembosky will join its Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice and its Litigation Department.
Dembosky joins Debevoise from the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the DOJ’s National Security Division and the highest-ranking official at the DOJ focused primarily on cyber investigations and prosecutions. In that role, Dembosky was the senior DOJ lawyer on data breaches including Target, Sony Pictures and Anthem.
Dembosky previously served as Deputy Chief for Litigation of the DOJ’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS), the primary unit within the DOJ’s Criminal Division that oversees cybercrime cases. He also previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
